"Any Guber Candidate that does not pledge to continue where Owelle stops is Enermy of Imo people" says IMO APC

PRESS STATEMENT

ANY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE THAT IS NOT TALKING ABOUT CONTINUING WITH AND IMPROVING ON THE NUMEROUS PEOPLE ORIENTED POLICIES AND PROGRAMS OF OWELLE ROCHAS OKOROCHA IS AN ENEMY OF IMO PEOPLE

With the publication of particulars of governorship candidates in the State, Imolites have been put on notice that they will have to choose from an unprecedented pool of about 68 governorship candidates, a man or woman of good character, Godly heart and ingenuous brain to govern them in the next four years, and if he or she does well enough, for the next eight years.

From the 1st of December, 2018, the ban on campaigns for governorship and House of Assembly elections would have been formally lifted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and these candidates are expected to unveil their programs and policies to the people, to enable the electorate make an informed decision on whom, among these candidates they should hand over the fate of our dear State to, starting from May 29th, 2019.

The last seven years have provided Imolites an insight into how a government should be run and the people have also been exposed to the enormity of powers they should enjoy in a working democracy, as exemplified by the APC led Rescue Mission administration of His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha. Also, opportunities, as never previously experienced were made possible for the people, in the last seven years. The ordinary people have been on the driving seat of the administration, as policies previously thought impossible and even dismissed by the present crop of emergency 'progressives' as, campaigns of deceit, when they were first mooted by His Excellency Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha, have not only been proven to be possible, but have formed the center point of all campaigns among all governorship contestants in the State.

The All Progressives Congress in Imo State is proud of the achievements of the Rescue Mission administration and we, in good conscience, warn Imolites to beware of any governorship candidate that does not unveil a clear pathway that guarantees a continuation of the Rescue Mission administration's numerous people oriented policies and programs, with clear-cut ideas on how to improve in areas where there might be need for improvement, is either an enemy of Imo people who plans to destroy the great legacies of progress, freedom and prosperity built in the hearts of Imo people or a leadership neophyte who is at a loss of what democratic governance really entails. Imolites must reject such candidates no matter on which platform they present themselves.

Imolites should look out for that candidate with a track record of service to the people, humility, honesty, integrity and compassion for the people and who has a clear and verifiable plan of sustaining the wonderful legacies of the present administration.
